Jefferson Chamber PAC Announces First Round of Endorsements for Jefferson Parish School Board
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jefferson Parish, LA
August 25, 2026
The Jefferson Chamber Political Action Committee (PAC) today announced its first round of endorsements for the Jefferson Parish School Board. These endorsements reflect the PAC’s commitment to strong governance, student‑focused leadership, and the critical connection between high‑quality public education, workforce development, and long‑term economic growth in Jefferson Parish.
“The Jefferson Chamber PAC endorses candidates for school board because strong, student‑centered governance is essential to both the success of Jefferson Parish Schools and the economic future of our parish,” said Ruth Lawson, President of the Jefferson Chamber. “Education is the foundation of workforce development, and workforce development is the engine of economic development. We look for candidates who understand that connection and who align with the Chamber’s priority of ensuring students graduate ready for the jobs of today and tomorrow.”
The PAC’s endorsement process is designed to be thorough and objective. All candidates participating in the process were asked to complete a detailed questionnaire and took part in an in‑person interview with PAC leadership. These steps allow the PAC to evaluate each candidate’s readiness to serve, understanding of governance responsibilities, and commitment to putting students first. For incumbents, consideration is also given to his or her service on the board to-date, demonstrated alignment to Chamber priorities, commitment to the district’s strategic plan, and collaboration and partnership with Dr. Gray.
“Our endorsement process is intentionally rigorous because Jefferson Parish students deserve school board members who put kids first,” said Nora Vaden Holmes, Chair of the Jefferson Chamber PAC. “Every endorsed candidate completed a comprehensive questionnaire and participated in an in‑person interview. The PAC believes the candidates we are announcing today have demonstrated the leadership, commitment to student‑focused governance, and understanding of the education‑to‑workforce pipeline necessary to support the continued success of Jefferson Parish Schools. We feel confident these candidates will stay focused on the issues that matter most for students and keep the district moving in a strong direction under Dr. Gray’s leadership.”
The Jefferson Chamber PAC proudly endorses the following candidates in Round One:
● District 6: Al Galindo
● District 7: Ralph “Rem” Brandt
● District 9: Kevin Delahoussaye
